Robin Roenker
“I love writing — especially when it involves taking a complex idea and distilling it into its essentials so that anyone can understand it. It’s like a puzzle with words, and when you find the right fit, it’s so fulfilling.”

Watching rom-coms (the cheesier the better)

Robin has delivered engaging, effective content for clients in health care, higher education, travel, sustainability, and other industries for nearly 20 years.

A former freelancer, Robin brings almost two decades of experience in content writing and journalism to Dragonfly’s writing team.

Drawn to freelance while raising her three sons, Robin has written for leading national consumer-facing publications, including AARP, Southern Living, USA Today, and USA Today travel and special issue publications. She has also been a trusted, regular contributor at smaller B2B publications focused on health care, lawn and landscape management, sign manufacturing, travel planning, and the coffee and tea industry, among other sectors.

A member of the Association of Health Care Journalists (AHCJ), Robin has extensive experience as a health care content writer for clients both large and small. She also dove deep into reporting on sustainability and green business practices, particularly in the hospitality industry, as writer of the award-winning former “Sustainability Matters” column for Fresh Cup magazine.

Prior to freelancing, Robin worked in public relations for a Kentucky-based public broadcasting station and as a grant proposal editor and economics journal editor for the University of Kentucky.

Robin holds an undergraduate degree in English from the University of Kentucky and a master’s degree in English from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. In addition to her participation in AHCJ, she is a member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors.

Having joined the Dragonfly team at the end of 2022, Robin looks forward to delivering exceptional writing to our clients.

When she’s not at work, Robin enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons. You can often find her on the sidelines of a marching band competition, an archery tournament, or a track competition, or — when it’s homework help time — trying to recall algebra and geometry skills lost long ago.
