Last month, the Dragonfly Editorial team took on APMP’s Bid and Proposal Con — better known as BPC — in Nashville. As the leading event for professionals in bids, proposals, business development, and capture, BPC delivered an energizing few days of ideas and inspiration.
We were proud to sponsor, speak, and exhibit at the event, connecting with peers, sharing our expertise, and soaking in all the inspiration the proposal community has to offer.
From proposals to business leadership
Dragonfly’s President Sam Enslen was featured on a panel alongside Metre CEO Robin Davis and Kevin Switaj, president and CEO of Biz Opportunity Management. During the session, the three shared insights into their varied journeys of building successful businesses in the proposal space.
“I found it fascinating that Robin, Kevin, and I developed successful businesses from very different starting points,” Sam said. “Mine was an accidental business, a freelance venture that just kept growing. In contrast, Kevin started with a very specific gap in the proposal marketplace and deliberately crafted a business to fill it.”
While their origins differ, the panelists agreed that a shared value drives their success: genuine care for understanding and serving their customers’ needs.
“As Robin puts it, ‘A must-win for them is a must-win for us,’” Sam added.
Real humans in an AI world
There’s no denying it: AI is here to stay, and it’s reshaping the way we work.
At BPC 2025, artificial intelligence dominated the conversation, with packed sessions exploring topics like the strengths and limitations of generative versus traditional AI, how proposal content must evolve to work effectively with AI tools, and what it really takes to prepare an organization for AI-driven success.
We know that AI is not a passing trend. It’s a foundational shift in our industry.
“It’s no secret that AI-based content management systems — Responsive, Loopio, Qvidian, et al. — have reshaped the way proposal managers work,” Sam said. “And the tools are continuing to evolve. We’re watching this development closely, learning everything we can, and implementing tools where we think it’s appropriate in our work.”
At Dragonfly, we’re committed to staying ahead of the curve. We adopt tools where they make sense, while still ensuring we never lose the human insight that defines great work.
