Jesse’s writing career started at Ohio University when he was accepted into the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism. During his junior year, he studied abroad at journalism schools in the Netherlands and Denmark.
After receiving his journalism degree, he started as a local newspaper reporter for a few small-town weeklies in southwestern Ohio. Deciding to make the jump to advertising and marketing writing, he started freelancing as a copywriter, editor, and proofreader.
He also worked full time—once in the corporate world and once at an agency—while running his business, completing projects for a diverse mix of clients. At that time, he preferred being a generalist and writing and editing all types of projects—radio commercials, case studies, websites, e-blasts, books, catalogs, CEO ghostwriting—to keep his skills sharp.
Joining Dragonfly in 2021 as a copywriter, he now completes writing projects for an exciting group of clients that provide world-class services. He enjoys helping these organizations reach their market while communicating in hopeful, positive ways.
Outside of work, he really likes tiramisu, Humphrey Bogart movies, golden retrievers, the history of aviation, travel, museums, The Beatles, and the undying, eternal thought that, one day, the Cincinnati Bengals will win the Super Bowl.
