Dragonfly and ACES Go Viral on BuzzFeed

buzzfeed-logoThe American Copy Editors Society (ACES) conference ended March 28, but the good vibes surrounding the event haven’t died down yet.
BuzzFeed, the king of viral content and the master of the listicle, sent copy chief Emmy Favilla to ACES 2015. She spoke on a panel on “How to Get the Job You Want”—and also polled attendees on their top grammar pet peeves.
Among those who weighed in are Teresa Schmedding, ACES president; Gerri Berendzen and Samantha Enslen, ACES executive board members; Kory Stamper, associate editor at Merriam-Webster; Steve Kleinedler, executive editor, reference group, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt; and Larissa Newton, copyeditor at Central Penn Business Journal and winner of the 2014 Robinson Prize, which recognizes substantial contributions to the craft of copyediting and excellence in overall copyediting skills.
Favilla wrote up her findings in BuzzFeed’s trademark style. The post was trending on BuzzFeed on Friday, with more than 70,000 views and hundreds of comments.
