Account Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Remote – US
Dragonfly Editorial is a creative agency that helps companies around the world with content strategy, copywriting, editing, and design.
We’re looking for an Account Manager who can act as a true strategic partner to our clients. You see the big picture, build genuine relationships, and know how to grow accounts in the publications, communications, and editorial space. You’ve spent years cultivating client-agency partnerships, and you’re ready to lead our account management function as it grows. You’ll own relationships with our top-tier accounts, identify opportunities for deeper engagement, and help shape how Dragonfly serves clients for the long term.
What you’ll do:
- Serve as the strategic lead on Dragonfly’s top-tier accounts, building trusted, long-term relationships with senior client stakeholders in communications functions.
- Run quarterly business reviews, surface growth opportunities, and partner with clients to align our work to their bigger content strategy goals.
- Lead and shape our AM function by setting the standard for how we run accounts, mentoring colleagues, and building the playbooks that scale with the team.
- Develop tailored proposals that connect Dragonfly’s services to each client’s business outcomes.
- Advocate for client goals internally and collaborate with Dragonfly’s project managers, marketers, and creatives to bring strategic, outside-the-box thinking to every engagement.
- Monitor account health, anticipate issues before they become problems, and keep clients in a place where they feel genuinely supported.
- Represent Dragonfly at conferences, and partner with our marketing team to amplify our presence.
- Bring an AI-forward mindset to the work.
Our ideal candidate has:
- 7–10 years in communications, account management, client services, or strategic client partnership roles, ideally in an agency environment.
- Background in publications, communications, editorial, or content — you understand this world from the inside, and the learning curve isn’t steep for you.
- Comfortability working with CRM tools, project management systems, and collaborative digital environments.
- Experience adopting and applying AI tools in client-facing or operational work or genuine enthusiasm for learning how to do so.
- A four-year degree or equivalent experience.
- A commitment to respect, empathy, and inclusivity, with an understanding of and appreciation for DEI in a professional setting.
- A plus: You’ve completed Jenny Plant’s Account Accelerator program or other AM skills training.
Benefits:
At Dragonfly, it’s important for us to create an exceptional workplace for our employees. Our benefits include:
- Health, dental, vision, and life insurance for you and your family
- Paid parental leave
- 401(k) plan with prompt vesting
- Generous paid time off
- Highly flexible work schedule
- Access to ongoing continuing education and career development opportunities
Our benefits also include working in an environment where you’re valued as a person, where DEI is part of the fabric of our culture, where kindness is more important than cutting a deal, and respect is paramount.
And remember this: Research shows that men apply to jobs when they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, yet women and other marginalized folks often apply only when they fit every single item. If you believe you could excel in this role, but don’t meet every single criteria, please get in touch anyway. Tell us about yourself and what you bring to the table. We’d love to explore whether you could be a great fit.
